If you're at Ala Moana Shopping Center in the evenings (Tuesdays through Sundays; until December 23, 2006), be sure to catch a local Christmas show called "The Christmas Gift of Aloha" at centerstage that starts at 6pm. I decided to go after work today to watch it and by the time I get there...the place is jam-packed with tons of people. I try to find a perfect spot so I will be able to see the show as well as take photos without having to worry that someone "tall" will come and block my view. I patiently wait (still have about 15 minutes more before it starts) and get a little tired just standing there. But that tired feeling disappears when I see the stage lights and music come on signalling the start of the show! *smile giddily to myself like a little girl*
It is a fast-moving musical adaptation of a published children's book of the same title, written by Lisa Matsumoto. The story is about a naive Christmas elf named Merry, who finds himself in Hawaii, meets a quick-witted menehune named Mele and discovers that menehunes spend the year making toys for Santa, too. Merry learns that Hawaii is a pretty neat place to be for Christmas, even without snow, and he also comes to appreciate the natural beauty of the island and the colorful birds and fish that live here. The show ends just in time for us the audience to troop upstairs for "Santa's Spectacular Aloha Christmas Parade." Spectacular! Must see if you haven't yet! For the parade, try to stand by Macy's or Martin and MacArthur to take some good shots! Below are some photos that I took as well as videos which you can view here, here, here, here and here. Enjoy!
and...I do mean Welcome! Selamat Datang! Aloha! I extend a warm welcome and am glad that you could stop by and read my blog. It simply contains general musings and ramblings about things that concern and/or interest me.
So kick back, click away and don't forget...enjoy your visit!
"So you want to know me? Romantic and logical ~ Loyal and always true ~ Funloving crazy and very quiet when needed ~
Sensible and down to earth...to sum it up, I guess I'm pretty much a "nice girl", hopefully in a good way, who's also a bit of a geek"
Here I am as perfect as I'm ever going to be.
You'll see, love me for me.
Stick around, I'm not the kind of girl you wanna leave.
You'll see, love me for me.
"With a birthday on the 5th of the month you are inclined to work well with people and enjoy them. You are talented and versatile, very good at presenting ideas. You may have a tendency to get itchy feet at times and need change and travel. You tend to be very progressive, imaginative and adaptable. Your mind is quick, clever and analytical. A restlessness in your nature may make you a bit impatient and easily bored with routine. You may have a tendency to shirk responsibility".
