or I hope to think so. Woke up mid-morning, got ready and drove out to Waialua. It was a nice clear, sunny day and perfect timing to wash my car! My poor baby has been so dirty for the last several weeks and because of this unpredictable weather we're still experiencing...I was just not in the mood of washing it! As we driving there, it started to drizzle (grr!!) but it cleared up when we reached Grandpa's house. The sun was still up but we could see a really big and dark cloud forming up in the sky; so we decided to head out to Haleiwa town to grab lunch in hopes that the cloud would disappear!
We bought lunch from North Shore Country Okazo & Bento. They were featured on the Rachael Ray $40 a Day show and since I didn't want to have McDonalds again for lunch, so we agreed to give it a try. The store looked bigger and seemed to have more food selections on TV in comparison as to when we walked in. It was a rather small mom and pop place and since we were already inside, we each ordered our own plate. It was a little hard trying to decide what to pick as not all the food selections were tagged but we somehow managed to make a plate lunch consisting of chow fun, fried saimin, korean garlic chicken, shrimp tempura, shoyu hot dog and spam musubi. It started to drizzle at first on our way home and suddenly it started to pour ~ there goes my chance again on washing my dirty car!
The food was a-okay and a little cold. It was still raining even after we were done with lunch so we just sat around and chit-chatted. The rain finally did stop and we took a chance and washed my car! It was so clean and shiny after the wash but it didn't last long as it started to rain again as we were heading back into town.
We drove through Ala Moana beachpark, took a short stroll along Magic Island and got stuck in a major traffic jam as we were driving into Waikiki. We didn't know what the hold up was for but found out much later that they had the roads closed off for the Waikiki SPAM Jam street festival; having all cars make a detour on Seaside Avenue. Instead of crawling along with the traffic, we ended up on Kapiolani Blvd...headed back into Waikiki towards the zoo and took a scenic drive along Diamond Head and Kahala before heading home. The rest of the night was spent eating leftover hamburger steak, pork chops with gravy on rice and watching movies on DVD. Below are some pictures we took during our drive home. Enjoy!
