Finally...after several months, I was able to satisfy my cravings as dim sum for brunch was decided last Sunday. Ate at Panda Cuisine by Keeaumoku Street. If you've never heard about or even tried DIM SUM before (gosh, you don't know what you're missing!!) Wikipedia does a great explanation - "Dim Sum" is a Cantonese term, literally translated as dot heart or order heart, meaning order to one's heart's content. It is also translated as touch the heart, dotted heart, or snack; or it may be derived from yat dim sum yi, meaning a "little token".
The choices were plentiful, tasted ohhh so ono (delicious!) as I ate my favorites - steamed shrimp dumplings (ha gow), steamed minced pork dumplings (sui my), steamed roast pork buns (cha siu pao), steamed baby pork ribs (see jup pai guat), steamed Mochi rice in Lotus leaf (lo mai gai), 3 mini egg tarts and deep fried shrimp with mayonnaise but the service was a little too slow. The full pot of chinese tea kept me going but the carts (which had the FOOD) didn't seem to be wheeled towards my table and just waiting for it to come by kinda made me do a little hissy-fit! Next time around, must choose a table that is smack right in the middle of the restaurant so the flow of food will not end and am able to eat until I can't get up and need to waddle out of the restaurant! Overall, the food was good; but the service receives a thumbs down!
SN, SH and I had lunch at Ruby Tuesday (located on the 4th level of Ala Moana Shopping Center) yesterday. Both SN and SH ordered the "Coastal Crabcakes" - tender crabmeat, seared on the grill and served with remoulade (?) sauce, fresh steamed broccoli and brown rice pilaf topped with cheese and tomatoes while I ordered the "Shrimp Alfredo Pasta" - Penne pasta with Alfredo sauce, spicy broiled shrimp, diced tomatoes and Parmesan-Romano cheese. Yum! We even saved room for dessert and shared a "Brownie" - a rich brownie topped with creamy vanilla Blue Bell Ice Cream, then drenched in chocolate sauce. It was truly chocolatey, chewy, and double yummilicious! It was so good that the thought of going back to the office after lunch to continue working...was simply such a ridiculous option! If only we had recliners (which includes the body massage) in the office so I could have a taken a short nap. Hah!
and...I do mean Welcome! Selamat Datang! Aloha! I extend a warm welcome and am glad that you could stop by and read my blog. It simply contains general musings and ramblings about things that concern and/or interest me.
So kick back, click away and don't forget...enjoy your visit!
