As far as I'm concerned...
...You can't please everyone. And sometimes, you can't please anyone. Am I pissed? I'm pissed. I don't like to blog about work or the people I work with but I'm calling the shots now; enough is enough and I need to vent! So it's a start of a new work week, and as I get ready for work, I noticed that there was 1 miss call & voicemail on my cell. I didn't have to guess who was calling that early in the morning. I'll come back to that soon. Anyways...I work in this office and being that it is a small family-oriented company...there's usually three (myself with two other co-workers; A and B) of us that are always physically in the office. They are good people but I am so fed up with the things I have to put up with or for them.
So coming back to the missed call on my cell...it was my co-worker. "A" has a habit of calling in sick and since the beginning of this new year, and I swear A's called in sick almost 6 times already and it's only the second week of February! It has happened in the past as well, but I find it to be getting slightly out of hand. Okay...yes you can partial blame it on the ugly cold weather we have been experiencing but hey, let's try to take better care of your health. I'm in an office where we physically answer each and every phone call that comes in and when I am by myself, I can only handle a certain amount of calls without screaming & pulling my hair because we tend get some nasty, stupid and rude callers. And when your client calls and bites my head off because she can't talk to you or your boss who is out of town, I get pissed. There's only so much I can reason with your client but if he or she talks rudely to me, I tend to talk back rudely as well once my patience runs low! Ohh...please be sure to inform your boss that you are out sick and won't be able to come into the office. I don't mind doing it once or twice, but it's just I don't want to have to deal with your boss. Leave her a message if you're unable to talk with her when you call. Yes, I am the bitch but hey...I don't have you putting up with my nonsense...but then again, I don't do such nonsense. Urgh!
Then there's "B". B is in the office usually during the first half of the day, the rest of the day B spents it out on the road. My biggest problem with B is that B does not check his messages or returns phone calls promptly; with that I get harassed and blamed for not conveyeing the messages to B. Yes, I agree a typical work day includes more action items than you actually have time to complete. But you sure need to prioritize your activities and not just "push the pile forward" so please...please read or retrive your messages and return calls promptly within 24 hours ~ especially the ones marked "URGENT". If you cannot attend to the caller's needs within that time, briefly phone the person to say when you will be available. One of most unprofessional things a business can do is NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS! No one likes to have his or her calls ignored. Many people even perceive it as a sign of disrespect. I always show tact and patience when dealing with difficult people over the phone. I try to be calm. I try not to use obscenities. I admit I'm not all that great either, but at least I have my shit together! Okay...now that I have all of that out...let's move on to a...

"So you want to know me? Romantic and logical ~ Loyal and always true ~ Funloving crazy and very quiet when needed ~ Sensible and down to earth...to sum it up, I guess I'm pretty much a "nice girl", hopefully in a good way, who's also a bit of a geek"
