January 29 marks most important celebration in the Chinese calendar; where we celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Dog! I was in Chinatown this morning and was lucky enough to watch a Chinese Lion Dance at Maunakea Marketplace. The lion dance is an important tradition to usher in good luck, happiness and fortune for the New Year. I miss getting my little "hong bao" from family and relatives ~ a little red envelope with money wrapped in it which symbolize luck and wealth. Another thing I'll be missing is all that good & delicious food ~ longevity noodles, shark's fin soup, and the famous Yee Sang (New Year Raw Fish Salad) where everyone sits around the table, gets their chopsticks and tosses it together, the higher the better and says "lucky" things for the Chinese New Year. Here's wishing everyone who's celebrating Chinese New Year ~ may it bring you joy, happiness and good fortune!

"So you want to know me? Romantic and logical ~ Loyal and always true ~ Funloving crazy and very quiet when needed ~
Sensible and down to earth...to sum it up, I guess I'm pretty much a "nice girl", hopefully in a good way, who's also a bit of a geek"
Here I am as perfect as I'm ever going to be.
You'll see, love me for me.
Stick around, I'm not the kind of girl you wanna leave.
You'll see, love me for me.
