The next day...I gave them time to sleep in, recover from any jet lag sensation and also slowly get use to the time difference (Malaysia vs. Hawaii is -18 hours). I had my long list of "things to do", "places to see" and "food to try/eat", however I had to figure out when to do what and how it will all fit so that I'm not driving all over the place.
We meet for lunch at the condo and my mom cooked her yummilicious nasi goreng (fried rice). We eat, we talk and I tell them to eat up quickly so we can head out soon and try not to catch the afternoon traffic. First stop is Pali Lookout. This tourist spot offers fantastic panoramic views of the Windward coast of Oahu. It was indeed a beautiful day as the sun was up, no vog and lots of cool winds. Actually it was too windy because it was just impossible for me to pose for a photograph as the winds was blowing my hair non-stop, and covering my face. So instead I became the photographer and snapped happily! Okay, maybe for just one photo.
Then, I drive into Kaneohe to see the famous Byodo-In Temple that is situated inside the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. It is a replica of the 950-year-old Byodoin Temple located in Uji, Japan on the southern outskirts of Kyoto. Also, if you are a LOST fan, this location served as the family home of the Korean actress, Sun. We take more pictures and walk though the grounds and temple before heading back into town...downtown to walk some more.
This is also the night where my family gets to meet Ryan and his parents for the first time. I even bought KFC and took it over to the condo for dinner. However realize later because of excitement and nervousness, I forgot to take pictures. To be continued...
and...I do mean Welcome! Selamat Datang! Aloha! I extend a warm welcome and am glad that you could stop by and read my blog. It simply contains general musings and ramblings about things that concern and/or interest me.
So kick back, click away and don't forget...enjoy your visit!
"So you want to know me? Romantic and logical ~ Loyal and always true ~ Funloving crazy and very quiet when needed ~
Sensible and down to earth...to sum it up, I guess I'm pretty much a "nice girl", hopefully in a good way, who's also a bit of a geek"
Here I am as perfect as I'm ever going to be.
You'll see, love me for me.
Stick around, I'm not the kind of girl you wanna leave.
You'll see, love me for me.
