The oracle said...
Upon finishing my take-out lunch comprising of half chow funn, half fried rice with spring beans and chicken and spicy eggplant and tofu, I crack open my fortune cookie to read ~
"Look towards the future, but not so far as to miss today"
Should I take this seriously?
Fortune cookies may not have thousands of years of history behind them, but for connoisseurs of Chinese food, this doesn't matter. These crunchy cookies are a wonderful ending to a fine meal. Isn't that all that matters? *burps* (ohhh...excuse me!)
More on food...last night's dinner
Made Onion Soup in the slow cooker (my improvised version - 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp pepper, 3 medium onions [sliced], 3 cups beef broth [fresh or canned] and a dash of thyme [optional]...First melt butter in separate pan, add onion and sugar and cook onions until onions caramelize and turn to a rich brown color. Transfer into slow cooker, add beef broth, pepper and simmer on low setting). Then I continue to cook hamburger patties, make thick brown gravy, stir-fry sauteed onions and sunny-side up eggs...
